Lisbon
Dylan and Jason E,
Paige and Jess
After we got an early start from a 7:30am wake up call, we packed our things and headed to Lisbon for the last part of our tour. On the way, we made a restroom stop at a gas station in the middle of nowhere. After buying food and water, we headed back on the road to the capital city of Portugal. As we approached the 25th of April bridge that lead us to Lisbon, Raquel explained to us our a bit of Lisbon history and why the bridge was named what it was and why it also looked so much like another bridge we've seen in the U.S. As we arrived, it was freaky not knowing a word anyone was saying after being able to communicate in Spain. After we had lunch, we had free time and most people like myself rode the "tuk tuk" for a tour of Lisbon. Also, I (Jason) went to the cathedral that was not fully rebuilt after the earthquake of 1755 and it was a really interesting Cathedral with an unfinished roof. Upon returning to the hotel, we had time to chill and some of us even hit the gym. We went to dinner and had rice, chicken breast and mixed fruits. Although cod and other fish is the main food in Portugal, they know us kids won't each much fish, but the chicken was excellent. We then walked back to the hotel through Rossio square only stopping for ice cream before bed time. We are excited to go see the castle and other fun things for tomorrow. We loved the food and how nice the people are here and we are so happy we got this experience
